Some sites restrict free speech that will not be the case here in emails, private chat or private groups.
Because I have made this a public site (I am open to making it private by invitation only ) if members want that.
I encourage debates and because currently, this is public anything outside of private chat or groups, should remain within the scope of civility!
This is brand new and something I have not attempted before.
I want members to feel free to invite other VETS or friends. If this works out and everyone wants this to become private - to protect your speech, even further, please do not hesitate to tell me.
This site is for our VETS. I am not an expert but I am a good listener and a friend.
Much of what I know is self taught, common sense, what I have learned from books, school, people and my late husband who was wealth of knowledge.

PTSD Vietnam Vet: Jack Cunningham takes on New Jersey courts

To Jack Cunningham and his best friend Rick:

Jack and Rick! You two are the personification of what "Brothers" really are. "Always Faithful". Rick I have no doubt at all that Jack will prevail.
The malignancy that lies within the vile ugly bowels of NJ government, needs to be penetrated and cut out, much like a surgeon removes a growing cancer.

Jack my faith has and will forever always lie with GOD and while I know that this process has been a very long one, I believe "all things happen for a reason". Time surely has proven that you are a 'FIGHTER'. God knows this.
This case cannot get to the Federal Court fast enough. Christie and all those before him and the corrupt lawyers, need to be severely penalized.

These vapid politicians and the ones that may have served in our Armed Forces, seem to all to soon forget the reasons why they served.

They stand up and strike a pose to the voters, say anything to get themselves elected then turn around and do just to opposite of what they promised. They are nothing less then heinous.

I might well imagine that these maggots in Mercer County is as ugly and vile as the enemy in Vietnam and in their MIDST is Jack Cunningham. Once again, exposing himself to enemy ( New Jersey ) - this time on American soil. Should we be surprised by this? Where in the hell was everyone when our VETS returned home? Does this nefarious government really think it is going to prevail in it's attempt with this Mass Cover up?

It is time to turn the tables and make the State of NJ listen and own up to what they have tried so hard to ignore. I had hope that once Corzine was out of office and Christie became the new Governor, that things would improve greatly for Jack and for the state. But to date Christie has proved himself to be just as sinister as the rest, in my opinion.

Heck I am not an expert, but I am also no blind to what these @&%(!_@^ have done to you. You are entitled to Due Process. Without "Due Process" New Jersey and other like states who don't care - are nothing less then equal to governments that do not offer any recourse.

Jack you stood tall in Vietnam and you continue to stand tall in the USA and I do believe that the state of NJ has been restricting you these past 11 years of your fundamental rights and freedom.

In my opinion, NO VET, Solider, Airmen, Marine, Navy, Coast Guard should ever have to WAIT for critical decisions to be made in regards to their injuries, physically or mentally. What this NJ Governmental body needs to understand is, that when you were called to DUTY you did not hesitate - you went, you fought, and you saved lives - you never questioned your own government as to WHY you had to go.. - you did what you took an oath to do, and government takes a similar oath YET the difference is, the Veteran marches into battle, faces the enemy and does what it needs to secure continued freedom - and the outcome is far to often loss of life, severe injury to both body and mind - and when you all came home - ignored by the very government that sent you there.

This nefarious government has marched into it's own battle and has no clue what honesty is and seems to live and thrive off perjury. I do not believe their is any statute of limitation of 'Seeking truth and fairness'. They are wrong, they know they are wrong, but they ( NJ ) is in so deep that there is and can be no going back. In order to get the justice that you deserve the State needs to answer the questions and the state needs to take "Ownership" for what it has done to you.

I am glad you are taking them to task... GO KICK SOME BUTT!!! Seems to me you fought the battle and theirs is just about to begin! God is with you Jack and the good thing about that is - you are aware that HE is... NJ on the other hand walks the path that Satan does. And we both know that while this battle continues. GOD IS BIGGER! Jack Cunningham - You will Prevail.

Armed Forces Day is a day set aside for ALL those who have ever proudly served in the United States Military. To my way of thinking and to many like me, this is a day that MUST be observed and NEVER forgotten. On May 20, 1950, shortly after the Korean War began, the very first Armed Forces Day was observed. It became an established holiday the following year. Before that, each branch of the US Military, observed their own observance day. It seemed the sensible and wise thing to do by organizing one day that included ALL branches of our military under the Department of Defense. America was more then ready to recognize the need to combine the sum total of ALL branches for their combined dedication and sacrifices. It is important to note that the Marine Corp declined, but they do however support the other branches on this day. On the first day Armed Forces was recognized, back in 1950, the theme was "Teamed for Defense" which was the unification of ALL military forces under one government department. DFAS! The day was conceived to increase public awareness and understanding of the jobs that were carried out by these men and woman and also the role of our military, in civilian life. Armed Forces Day allows the Military to show their 'stuff' Their state of the art gear, their apparel, and equipment to all Americans. This is a day to honor and to attest to Americans in the Armed Forces. Many states and cities hold parades, have open houses. receptions are held and of course air shows are held at the inaugural Armed Forces Day. It is truly a day to Honor those in the Armed Forces and those who were in the Armed Forces. Sixty one years later, Armed Forces Day is still observed during Armed Forces Week. There are so many out here that have served and are serving and every single one of them, have their very own story. Their stories reflect greatly on who they are and the pride they have in what they have achieved. Many will say " I was only doing my job" and while true, there is a deep gratitude that goes along with that. Listening to stories, gives a person of sense in some instances, of what it might have felt like if they had been there serving their country. The American soldier to my way of thinking, is by far courageous beyond measure and for as long as I live, I will always extend my hand and say thank you - I will always open my heart to them and my home. The gratitude that I have is deeply felt - but in no way can it compare to what our armed forces has done, to keep our flag flying high and for the freedoms that we all have been afforded over the duration of time. So on 21 May 2011 please where ever you are, stop for a moment and reflect and be ever so grateful to those who graciously and gratefully served. Extend your hand, show your gratitude and appreciation. Say thank you! It is so important for all of us to know, understand and recognize that there is often a huge price that is paid, that comes with keeping our nation free. As wars raged through the beginning of time, from the first recognized Armed Forces Day from Korea to Vietnam, The Gulf War to Iraq and Afghanistan - there are NO greater or braver men and woman who inhabit this earth who went to confront the enemy to preserve our liberty and freedom. May Almighty God Bless you all.

I have made this site for one purpose, and that is to Honor and Support our Soldier's and our VETS. It is now, and always will be my belief that anyone who has ever served or who are serving our nation is the REAL reasons for our liberties and freedoms. Our VETS need to be remembered and honored because it was them that were the brave and courageous who sacrificed everything, to fight for America's freedoms. I do not define America based on our government. I define America based on our men and woman who have, in a selfless act, put their country first. Throughout the ages, many lives have been lost. Many families torn apart because of wars, but anyone who ever lost anyone from a war, knows that every soldier, every VET had taken an oath to protect and defend our Nation. Their lives, their deaths, their memories MUST never be forgotten.'

I wish I could impress upon our very own government how proud they should be of our Military. In today's world, there is no draft, yet - men and woman sign up every day and clearly it's not for the money, it is for 'love of county'. It is for our "continued freedoms".

It is one thing to sit behind a desk in Washington and bark out orders, but it is quite another to sleep in a fox hole, dodge bullets and stand on the front lines. Washington, does not see the wages of war before their very eyes, but perhaps they should. Perhaps we need to add to an amendment that everyone who serves in Washington, be made to stand on the front line at least once. AND that anyone who serves in government, Congress, Senate, President, Vice President etc would ALL have had to serve their country first - for at least two full years.

Every soldier who serves in wartime or in peace time, always prays - as does the police officer, that they will never have to fire their weapons. But Omit that is not always possible. They live up to the oath they took, and are often sent to where our very own government directs them to go.

Those who do not fully understand what goes on over there currently are often misinformed. They hear only what the media is instructed to tell us. Every American can become better educated as to the truths. Go visit a VA clinic, or a VA hospital, Talk to those who came back. Talk to those that came back from NAM to Iraq. Do your own research, don't rely on the media or government to speak the truth. Ask the ones who know first hand. Ask their families how it affected them. Don't rely on the media to tell you.

I really do think that most American respect our troops and certainly our VETS and for those who have been tainted with lies and deceptions ...I think more and more are coming around to realizing that we would be nothing without our Military.

I will go as far to say that I, as an AMERICAN, apologize for the arrogance and ignorance of those in government that shunned our Solider's and VETS. It is not American's that are arrogant, it is government.

My late husband was career military. Over 40 years, so he has shared a great deal with me. He joined just a few years before Vietnam and he retired in 2001. We used to talk for hours about our Vietnam VETS and how our very own government who sent them there, poisoned the public via the media and these VETS were shunned and spat upon when they came home.

I was one of the very few at the train station in my home town to meet some VETS that returned. I always told my husband, look I have always supported our solider's and Veterans even when I was totally opposed to what our government was doing.

After 911 happened and then a war was waged, I had some people get in my face and say, how can you possibly support our troops, yet oppose the war or worse and not agree with our president?

My answer was always the same. "Our solider's and what they have been trained for, and what they fight for, if the need arises, is what gives me the very freedom to say I support our troops but oppose our government". And then I tell them, "if you do not understand that, then go volunteer some of your time at a VA facility, locate a military family that needs help while their loved one is away.

DO something, just don't sit there and mock, that which you do not understand". My Constitutional rights allow me to speak what I feel.

People need to fully educate themselves on what PTSD is. It is not some made up disease or ailment. It is serious and it can and does debilitate. When I stood at the train station in my home town, when some solider's returned from Nam, I was still a teenager. I was astounded at what I saw.

Sad withdrawn faces. Faces I had known my entire life. Even years later, they would not talk about, and understandably so. I never pressed, I just simply supported them. Back in the 70's another young man I knew came back from Nam. I would see him and say hello to him, and he just had this blank look on his face. He walked up and down the street for hours.

One day about ten years ago, we happened to talk on the Internet. He asked me to remind of the simple things before Vietnam and I did., Eventually we talked about it all. When we go to the part about when he came home, and how I spoke to him, and he looked blankly on me, he said, why didn't you tell me? I told him I had tried to talk with him as others did. He has come along ways since that time, but he still suffers from PTSD. A back fire of a car sets him off.

I was so angry with our government when the Vietnam Vets returned. So angry that they, the government could send them off to war, and shun them when they came back. I knew from day one that if they had been treated immediately, so many would not be still suffering inside today. We all know that this is a touchy subject to our VETS and rightly so.

I will be posting links where VETS can go to seek help! And although I am not a Veteran, I am the widow of one and I am an American, and I will ALWAYS listen, lend a shoulder, say a prayer, because I care.

God Bless you and thank you for all that you have done.

Thank you for allowing me my right to live in a Free Country!

US Military ‘Watching Egypt Closely’

On Jan. 29, Adm. Jim Stavridis, commander of U.S. European Command, tweeted: "Watching Egypt closely. Talking with Gen. Jim Mattis of U.S. Central Command about it."

But despite the chaos of the ongoing anti-government protests, so far all the American military has had to do is watch as the State Department directs the effort to secure and evacuate U.S. citizens.
